First Druid Halsin explicitly welcomed them to the Emerald Grove so they could be safe from the goblins, but many of the other more isolationist-minded druids there have begun to think the tieflings have overstayed their welcome, and see them as invaders to their sacred grove. They've been unable to proceed to Baldur's Gate due to the goblins infesting the road. Happy Ending Override: Provided you helped them in Act One, the refugees seem to be happily on their way to Baldur's Gate when they depart the grove, only for you to learn upon your arrival at the Last Light Inn in Act Two that the Cult of the Absolute has captured or killed many of them.A player can point out to some of them that Baldur's Gate is not bound to be much more welcoming. But they're also on the receiving end of this even at the Emerald Grove, with several of the druids looking down on them specifically for being "hellspawn". Fantastic Racism: They all had to escape from their hometown of Elturel due to how the populace grew hostile towards tieflings due to the events of Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus.So long as you helped them get there, anyway. After everything they endured, they endure, making a new life for themselves at Baldur's Gate. Earn Your Happy Ending: Not the case for most of them unfortunately, but the ones who make it to Baldur's Gate certainly give this vibe.They begin the journey with enough tieflings to populate a small village, but only about a dozen can actually make it into the city.
